TRAVEL TEAM TRYOUT FAQ

1. Who should JOIN OUR tryoutS for travel soccer?

Motivated players at any level of experience seeking to take their soccer skills to the next level through professional coaching and training provided at our club. We welcome all U8/U14 Boys (2017-2011) and U8/U15 Girls (2017-2010).

2. How do I sign up for tryouts?

Tryouts are open for U8/U14 Boys (2017-2011) and U8/U15 Girls (2017-2010) during scheduled tryout time. All players will be evaluated and receive an evaluation form at the end of the tryouts. Tryouts will last for 1 hour. We have a $25 fee for the new players.

3. What should I bring?*

Please arrive 15 to 30 minutes prior to the tryout start time to sign in and warm up. Players should wear cleats, shin guards, and bring a water bottle. Please wear a t-shirt and shorts. Please bring a copy of your child’s birth certificate, adoption certificate, certificate of naturalization, or passport as sufficient proof of the player’s age.

4. How many tryouts do I need to attend?

While DC Way Academy will hold 2 tryout dates, players only need to attend 1 tryout to be considered.

5. What if I am sick or injured during tryouts?

Please contact the appropriate coach/team manager and he/she will advise you on how to proceed. DC Way Academy Travel Administrator is available by email admin@dcwayacademy.org.

6. What if I missed tryouts?

 7. When will I find out if I have made a team?

We will extend offers by phone and/or email in the days following the conclusion of tryouts. Once commitments have been secured, team rosters will be formed.

8. If I made a team, when will I have to commit?

You will have to make a verbal commitment within 48 hours after the offer.

9. What if I do not make a team?

There are options available to you such as camps and clinics to help further your soccer development. We encourage players who do not make the team to try again the following year.
