YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS

(AGES 12-18)

Unlock a world of possibilities with DC Way's Youth Leadership Programs – an extraordinary opportunity for teens in the DMV area to gain work experience, earn volunteer hours for school, mature, and develop leadership skills. Our programs are not just about soccer; they're a transformative experience where young minds evolve into confident leaders.

Youth Leadership Programs are open to teens year-round and offer a chance to contribute to DC Way's vibrant soccer community through camps, Capitol Hill League, and Kids Academy. Whether you're a passionate soccer enthusiast, familiar with DC Way, or simply seeking valuable volunteer opportunities, Youth Leadership Programs are your gateway to becoming a future coach at DC Way. Join us and shape your future while making a positive impact on others.

We offer three distinctive tiers to cater to the diverse talents and aspirations of our participants:

Counselor-in-Training (ages 12-13):

Embark on an extraordinary journey as a Counselor-in-Training (CIT) from ages 12 to 13, immersing yourself in the intricacies of soccer sessions. This tier provides a hands-on learning experience as participants work closely with coaches, gaining firsthand insights into session structures. Beyond soccer skills, CITs learn to take initiative and foster teamwork, laying the foundation for becoming strong team players. In this role, you will contribute to DC Way's fun atmosphere and be seen as a role model by our players, creating a positive and engaging environment for everyone involved. As a vital part of our Youth Leadership Program, your experience as a CIT sets the stage for the building progression through our leadership tiers.

Transitioning to the Junior Assistant tier, participants aged 14 to 15 play a vital role in program operations. Their responsibilities extend to facilitating learning experiences by encouraging players to give their best while fostering a positive and focused environment. Junior Assistants become integral contributors to the overall success of DC Way's programs, developing leadership qualities and contributing to the growth of their peers. Building upon the foundation established as a CIT, the Junior Assistant level further strengthens your skills and sets the stage for the advanced responsibilities of the Assistant Coach level.

Assistant Coaches enhance their soccer coaching skills and become mentors, guiding and inspiring the next generation of players.
